Although I didn't get as much info about my specific event I did learn a lot about the Muir woods. The walk was very informational and it was really cool to be in the woods at night. At the end of the tour they have you walk by yourself down the trail (flashlight optional) and it is so peaceful and quiet with the moon and stars shining above. The rangers said there were "ghosts" in the forest. I saw one, but I won't spoil the surprise if anyone else feels like going. Being in the dark surrounded by nature was definitely magical and I think that spreading this idea to other parks would be a cool idea.
Muir Woods Midnight Walking Tour
Tuesday night I went to Muir woods for their walking tour. I asked the tour leader Ranger Tim what he knew about the winter solstice event, he seemed a little tight lipped. When I told him about the project he seemed even more hesitant. He told me that the event is already very large and they aren't planning on doing very much advertising for the event. I'm going to try to focus my site into getting people to start their own solstice events at local parks and forests.
