Last DDS class

I made all the corrections for the final. I really like the finished product and hope that it all works correctly for the presentation on Thursday. I really enjoyed this class, and I thought the lynda.com tutorials were very informative and helpful.

A different navigation approach

So I tried the navigation in a different place. I still want to keep the images as a central part of the site, but pushing all the information to the left side is a more conventional take on navigation for the site.

I shrank the bar with the navigation to be a little bit thinner based on the comments I got from the class last week. I think it does look better like this, not so chunky.

So I was just about to give up on the people that work at Muir Woods, but I called again today to see if I could get any images from past events and I actually got to talk to a ranger. Taking my own pictures of kids at a campfire was going to be pretty tough, so I'm glad I finally got ahold of someone. Unfortunately I didn't get the pictures in time to put them into my site for this week. But I have been linking the pages that I already had completed. I am just going to have to put the pedal to the medal to get all the technical stuff done this week.

DDS class 11.6.08

Last weeks class was productive. I think its cool how everyone's sites have come along and the designs all look really great. Now its time for the hard part, actually making all the ideas a reality. I'm still fine tuning a few things but I have a good grasp on the overall aesthetic. I've linked the splash page to the homepage and it seems to be working pretty well in the browsers. So I'm just working on fixing and finishing pages so I can link them all together.
